Approach to coaching

Individualized coaching to support clients in identifying areas of wellness using the 8-Areas of Wellness: Career, Emotional, Environmental, Financial, Intellectual, Physically, Sociocultural & Spiritual

At KB Coaching, our approach to working with our clients is as unique as they are! We use the acronym K.I.C.K.I.T to describe our process:

K.I.C.K. I.T.

  • Knowing

There are two key areas of Knowing for our work with clients:

    1) Knowing and owning our stories of transformation as coaches, while being fully present to our clients and

    2) Knowing that the client has the answers to how to reach their goals, regardless of whether they have given themselves permission to do so.

  • Inquiry

We must become deeply curious about our clients, their needs and their story. We learn by listening; listening to our clients (what is being said and what is not being said aloud), as well as listening to our intuition and research.

  • Compassionate nudging

We do not push or shove our clients, we compassionately nudge them towards the path of their goals. Attempting to force anyone to do what we feel is fundamentally better for their situation is coercion and is an unethical practice.

  • Kindness

Some of our clients have experienced varying levels of trauma by the time they come to speak with us. We want to provide an experience where, even when we have to have hard conversations with our clients, we do so from a place of understanding and care.

  • Ignite & Implement

After we have an understanding of who the client is, their goals, and how best to rev them up to meet their goals (“ignite”), we assist them in developing and implementing their plan of action. Please note that developing a plan of action is an iterative process, so it is important to manage the expectations of the client as well as our own expectations.

  • Team Up

Once the client and coach are in agreement regarding next steps, we then engage with those in our WIN (Wellness Incentive Network) to discuss their fit, capacity and availability to support our client with issues not directly related with career wellness.
